Enjoy the Holiday Weekend!

Some words to live by:
“Beautiful things happen in your life when you distance yourself from all the negative things.”  ~ Author Unknown

Not always an easy thing to do when surrounded by election campaigns. But we
            can try, can’t we?

“Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you, not because they are nice, but because you are.”  ~  Author Unknown

Gosh. This sounds just like Kindergarten, eh?  Makes sense. The best things were from that phase of our life! Simple. Direct. Easily remembered. Just not easily lived.

Tweetiebird was quoted to have said the following:
“Dear Lord, So far today I am doing alright. I have not gossiped, lost my temper, been greedy, grump, nasty, selfish, or self-indulgent. I have not whined, complained, cursed, or eaten any chocolate. I have charged nothing on my credit card.

But I will be getting out of bed in a minute, and I think that I will really need your help then.”

That’s when the real work begins anyway, right?

“Special request to all you kids that will be returning to school; if you see someone who is struggling to make friends or being bullied because he/she doesn’t have the most ‘in’ clothes, maybe he/she is shy, too quiet or maybe they don’t have many friends, please step up!  Say hello. Smile at them in the hallway. You never know what a person may be facing outside of school. Your kindness could make a big difference in someone’s life.” ~Author Unknown

If only this were that easy. Do you remember the days when you were bullied or feared you would be? Wouldn’t someone stepping forward and treating you the way outlined above have made you feel better? Yep. I thought so!

Please pass this on:
“A drop of happiness can cause:
                        -smiles
                        -optimism
                        -self worth
                        -reduced depression
                        -improved health”
                                                            ~ Author Unknown

That’s all for this day. Enjoy the Labor Day Weekend and especially the positive thoughts you draw from your family and friends. This is a good time of year. Rejoice!
