An internet gem caught the other day:
“Buddha
was asked, ‘What have you gained from meditation?’
He replied, ‘Nothing!’ ‘However,’ Buddha said,
‘let me tell you
What I lost: Anger, Anxiety, Depression,
Insecurity, Fear of Old Age
And Death.’”
Our homework for the weekend is to think about that. Think
about what meditation is first of all, then think about the benefits of
meditation. It took me decades to discern the mechanics of meditation. And then
another few years to realize the benefits!
