A complex thought for this day:
“President
Obama didn't invite immigrants to come to the U.S.
She [Lady Liberty]
did.
Give me your tired,
your poor, you huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
Our arms are open in welcome, or should be. Our mood is open
in justice, or should be. Our intent is open in love, or should be.
Or else how can we be Americans?
Or citizens of the world for that matter?!
