Reality strikes again and again despite hopes for another. To wit:
- Economics boost needed
- Most recent boost totaled $1 trillion; it was not enough and most said so
- Biden’s proposal is for $1.9 trillion; it will cover what was missed before i. Increased household infusion of cash ($1400 per person
- ii.Increased unemployment and extension thereof
- iii. Partial bailout of states and municipalities in light of revenue drops and increased expenses all due to COVID
- iv. These numbers are all well document by a majority of economists
- Joe Biden won the election; will be inaugurated on January 20th
- Trump household will vacate the White House on schedule
- COVID vaccines will be ramped up in the first quarter of 2021 to cover one third of Americans
- Pandemic will ease slowly at first, then pick up speed during the first 9 months of 2021
- Economy will slowly rebound; first notable improvement by end of June; major improvement by year-end
- Trump is finished as a politician and influencer
- Global Warming will get more attention and action in 2021 with global collaboration
- Racism will continue as a persistent, systemic problem
- Political ideologies will be realigned:3
- 30% conservative
- 30% liberal
- 40% centrist
- Much blending among the three
These may be projections on my part, but logic supports all of them. In spite of heated debates to the contrary, I firmly believe 2021 will witness the above movements. Coincidentally, public safety will be ensured as public discussion returns to more civil behavior.
What a difference an election can make!
